Cape Maclear Scuba

We are employing a number of local and international diving instructors and Divemasters, Cape Maclear Scuba can offer you a huge variety of specialty dive courses and a wealth of information on diving here in Malawi and elsewhere around the world.

Using traditional wooden boats with 15 HP engines, all the dive sites are within a twenty-minute, pleasant boat ride from the lakeside school. Cylinders are filled by a Bauer electric compressor so the fresh, filtered air is always clean. Safety and fun are the dive team’s focus and their track record of zero dive accidents is strong proof of this. Your safety and enjoyment are the team’s number one concern.

Robert C AssadManager & Dive Instructor
Rob joined Kayak Africa in 2002 and has been instructing and managing the dive school ever since. He has over 750 PADI certifications. He’s also an Emergency First Response Instructor, so your safety and diving experience are in good hands.
Holly JamesDive Instructor
Holly James has been an Instructor & Master Scuba Diver Trainer since 2009. With experience diving in over 20 countries and teaching experience on 3 continents, she can provide you with a wealth of diving knowledge from around the globe. As an MSDT she can also offer 8 specialty courses in addition to our standard advertised PADI courses.
Team membersDivemasters and Boatmen
All our divemasters and boatmen are locals from Chembe village and trained by Cape Maclear Scuba. We like our staff to embrace our passion for diving and thus train everyone to scuba dive, even with land-based roles. With safety being our highest concern, we also run regular Emergency First Aid courses for our staff.
